6 weeks to 12 months
In the infant room, care is one-on-one and unhurried. Babies eat and sleep on their own schedule, not the group's. Teachers sit on the floor with them, talk through diapering and feeding, and follow each baby's cues. Tummy time, songs, and board books fill the awake hours. You can ask the director how daily reports reach you.
12 months to 24 months
2-3 years
Two- and three-year-olds want to do it themselves. The room offers dress-up, blocks, and a sink for pouring, with enough duplicates so hands stay busy. Teachers sit close during disagreements and help children find words. Circle time is short and active. Ask the director about the daily schedule and how you will hear about your child's day.
3-4 years
Preschoolers work in small groups at tables and on the rug. They build with blocks, paint, sort and count, and act out stories. Teachers ask open questions and let children carry an idea through. The goal, in the center's words, is a pleasant, nurturing, and learning environment. Ask the director how progress is shared with families.
4 years to kindergarten
Children in Pre-K practice the routines kindergarten will ask of them: sitting for a story, taking turns, following two-step directions, writing their name. Teachers plan small-group work and choice time, with plenty of movement between. The center's stated goal is a pleasant, nurturing, and learning environment. Ask the director what a typical day looks like.
5 through 13 years of age
Summer camp runs Monday through Friday, and camp days and hours match the child care day. Camp is for children 5 through 13. Groups keep older and younger children busy with projects, games, and time outdoors. The program holds up to 261 children. Ask the director what to send and how the weeks are planned.
school-age children
Before and after school care is available for both ends of the day, or just the one you need. Staff supervise in-house activities, and children can work on after-school homework when they have it. The room gives school-age children space to unwind after a full day of classes. Ask the office how drop-off and pick-up work with your school schedule.
On days when school is closed, children can spend the day with us instead of at home. Staff plan many age-appropriate activities, and off-site field trips are part of these days. Children move between games, projects, and time with friends in their own age group. Ask the office for the schedule of upcoming no-school days and what children should bring.
